Mark Sheeky is a British artist and polymath. From childhood, in the 1980s, he developed computer games; and catholic hymns and Commodore 64 computer game music were his first musical influences. In the late part of the century he self-published albums of his first instrumental music, and soon developed his own custom Digital Audio Workstation to create and produce music. All of his music since 2002 has been created or produced using this software, and every algorithm, from the sample processing and filters, to the unique reverb and delay effects, has been developed by Mark.
His early albums showed the heavy influence of Jean-Michel Jarre, although perhaps more conceptual than abstract. In 2007 he worked with vocalist Tor James Faulkner to create an 1980s-pop themed concept album, and his output remained eclectic, including experimental work; such as the album Pi, based on the mathematical constant, and Art By Machine, an album created by artificial intelligence.
Classical music began to grow as an influence, and in 2015 he began performing with visual artists at small art events as his music shifted into live, virtuosic piano performances and avant-garde music, as extolled in albums like Cycles & Shadows. From 2016 to 2018 he produced and presented an experimental-arts radio programme, ArtsLab, and his music began to shift into vocal performances. In 2019 he released three albums including his first album of rock/pop songs as the artist Marius Fate.
