Mark Spiteri Lucas

Mark Spiteri Lucas is an educator, songwriter, musician, arranger, singer, television and stage producer. Originating from a musical family, well acquainted with the entertainment industry, he notes down Oscar Lucas, John Charles Lucas, Godwin Lucas, David Lucas and 1972 Eurovision Song Contest representative Joe Cutajar as relatives.

Mark started studying piano theory and practice, at a mere 7 years old until he acquired his A.L.C.M Music Diploma. As a 13-year old teen, he started to play the piano in several hotels, and he was subsequently asked to form part of an Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Joe Brown.

As a songwriter, he has collaborated with several musicians, lyricists and singers including Ira Losco and Klinsmann, for whom he wrote &#39;Fejn Staħbejtli&#39;, winner of the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2021 and &#39;She Gives Me Wings&#39;, runner-up in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2007. As a performer he has taken part in a number of music competitions, with <a href="spotify:track:20XM3RYpnomOrnfikWAyyx" data-name="Lil Binti">Lil Binti</a> in Mużika Mużika - Festival tal-Kanzunetta Maltija 2021, with <a href="spotify:track:58gjHBxsTKsjXNJK5uLDKd" data-name="Qalb Ta’ Qalbi">Qalb Ta’ Qalbi</a> in L-Għanja tal-Poplu 2022, <a href="spotify:track:4HCc2voxnW4KPnrmbmXMrG" data-name="Meravilja">Meravilja</a> in a duet with <a href="spotify:artist:3taCZhKzatXiuObT9YZ9sK" data-name="Debbie Scerri">Debbie Scerri</a> in L-Għanja tal-Poplu 2023, finishing in 2nd place, and most recently in the Konkors Kanzunetta Indipendenza 2023 with <a href="spotify:track:1qktYwpfD0BKOo10A68GlF" data-name="Tal-Isem">Tal-Isem</a> and in 2024 with <a href="spotify:track:41Ka9PUPOoqnA1LTrGJwfV" data-name="Aktar Tard">Aktar Tard</a>.
