Markee Ledge: Bass Music Pioneer. A true trailblazer of the Bristol drum and bass scene, has made a lasting impact on the city's musical evolution. He founded the legendary club night Ruffneck Ting, a cornerstone of the DnB community. He's championed boundary-pushing artists and sound system culture. As founder of Breakbeat Culture, he helped launch key names like DJ Fresh and D*Minds, while his collaborations with Decoder as Decoder & Substance graced many of the scene’s top labels.
As the core writer and producer behind the internationally acclaimed act Kosheen, Markee brought his deep songwriting and production skills to a global audience. His 2024 solo album Laws of Emotion was a critically acclaimed work of emotional depth, garnering over 400,000 streams and praise for its powerful narrative and sonic scope.
Now, Markee Ledge returns with his most ambitious project yet: Mind Body & Soul , a three-part album exploring human perception and consciousness through stripped-back jungle, tribal rhythms, and expansive synthscapes. The album features a standout collaboration with Megatron MC, fusing spiritual lyricism and raw energy to create what Markee calls “Roots Jungle.”
