Marquee Grand

Buffalo based vocalist/guitarist John Richter & drummer Matt Lawniczak have been playing together since they were ten years old. They started taking their music more seriously in November of 2015 when Marquee Grand first started playing together as they aligned with guitarist/vocalist Josh Owczarzak. The three spent the next four years finding themselves as musicians & songwriters. The trio then released a music video for “Just Like You” mid-2019. Alternative Buffalo asked them to join their #YouSawThemFirst with Twin XL in July 2019 as well as their birthday show in September 2019 with Dashboard Confessional. “Just Like You” has over 500 spins on the station. 2019 was spent self-producing an EP which was released on January 17th, 2020. The band played a sold out release show on the 24th of January at Rec Room in Buffalo. The group has recently released these four tracks and “Just Like You” with James Paul Wisner (Dashboard Confessional) mixing and Grammy-nominated producer Tyler Smyth (I Prevail) mastering. In June 2020, the band hit the studio with Seth Henderson (Knuckle Puck) of Always Be Genius to record four new songs which will be released later this year with Mike Kalajian mastering. “Drop Dead” - the lead single - will be available on September 18th. 2020 has come with many uncertain times, but this year MG will begin again with new hope and excitement. Their mantra is that you can be anything you want to be with hard work and dedication. Their mantra is #BeGrand.
