Martin Centaury

Martin Centaury is an artist, composer, producer and singer of funk, rock, electro, jazz and soul music. Accompanied by his band the Space Messengers, he teases his sounds out of the entire musical history. The first EP <a href="spotify:album:02Nwv19bROBaX2wYdJnCz3" data-name="Eponymous">Eponymous</a> has just been released and the first gigs (Cologne Music Week et al.) had quite a promising feel, so what’s next?

Martin grew up in an era of musical crossover. By the time he began to make music, so many different styles merged to establish new genres. Martin has played almost every kind of music, but always as a member of a band. After riding a few tours through Germany, Martin decided to take over the reins, picked up a microphone and created the artist – Martin Centaury.

Heavily influenced by the concept of crossing genres of music, Martin Centaury pursues the idea that good music working beyond genre boundaries will be taken for what it is: good music. Martin Centaury’s creative output is based on the space jazz of <a href="spotify:artist:0tIODqvzGUoEaK26rK4pvX" data-name="Sun Ra">Sun Ra</a> as well as pure pop moments, with his interest in philosophy and science fiction occasionally also finding an echo in the lyrics. With that said, there is no specific method used by Martin to create his music, leaving it hard to put his music in any camp. This isn’t simply fusion-pop: This is Centaury-pop.
