An exciting new journey awaits young and upcoming artist Martin Tennant, a singer/songwriter based in the small town of Kelty, Scotland. With a background in indie rock, alternative rock, Brit-pop and acoustic pop, his music is described by listeners as ‘hopeful’ and ‘inspiring’. The songwriter himself describes his sound as ‘if Hozier met Oasis and had a Scottish accent.:
The songwriter is deeply inspired by the British indie rock music scene from the 90s, drawing influences from bands like Oasis, The Verve, Blur, The Cure and Stone Roses. He also sights influences from more modern bands from the mid 2000s. With bands like The Killers, Kasabian, Arti Monkeys, Snow Patrol and Courteeners. Other influences include Hozier, John Mayer, Ed Sheeran, U2 and The View.
After many failed musical projects over the yews and setbacks due to Covid-19 and struggling to find work as a music teacher, he finally decided to venture out on his own and start a solo career as an artist. Despite being born with a visual impairment, Martin continues to work on his craft and express his passion for music.Stating that… ‘being limited with eye sight, doesn’t mean I can’t be limited on insight.’
So far, Martin Tennant has independently released his debut single ‘Forgotten Son’ with plans to release a number of singles and eventually release his debut album within the next 12 months.
