Mary Gu is a perfect pop star for the modern world. She writes her own lyrics, plays piano and never shies away from baring her soul in her honest songs. She also always stays true to herself, skillfully merging the hip-hop’s wit, rock’s drama and pop music’s grace. In 2020 she conquered the charts with her debut LP “Disney” with guest appearances by Loc-Dog. Then followed it by equally successful singles “Piyaniy romantic”, “Asteroid” and “Nezhnost” (the latter organically reimagined the legacy of Mary Gu’s predecessor, MakSim, 2000s kids’ idol). In 2021 Mary Gu went full pop rock on “Kosichki”, one of the year’s biggest hits. Then released 2 EPs, “horoshee i plohoe” and “plohoe i horoshee”.
