Maskara was formed in Istanbul,Turkey in 2004 by the name "Overload" as a cover band project ..For about 3 years the band played in many clubs, venues,arenas in Istanbul .By the time 2007 they had already established a well known name in their genre.
In 2007 the band decided to write their own songs in their native language with classic hard rock sound.
In 2008, following their name change, first cd "Maskara" released under the nation's major label "seyhan muzik", first video aired on almost all major music tv's.They released another video "Kır Zincirlerini" in 2009 from the same cd.
After release of the cd, Maskara played nation wide.Ankara,Bursa was the major cities and attended many festivals as well as playing in their hometown Istanbul in many clubs .
in 2012 the band released the EP "20oniki" and the video "sana bir ben lazım" follewed by many concerts and clup performances in all Turkey.
The band has spent the year of 2015 in studio recording their new album.The new cd was releaed at the end of February 2016 with their brand new video "Seytan Topuklu Giyer" .Following, the band started supporting the new cd with promotional concerts.
The band released a new video for the song "Yorma" in the summer of 2017 which appeared in their debut album.
The band spent the most of the last couple of years writing and recording the new original materials for their new album which was set to be released in summer of 2025.
