Mastiksoul began his career as a DJ and producer in 1992, becoming one of the most respected artists in the global music industry. Recognized for his very distinctive style, he has produced numerous hits and reached several worldwide Top 10 charts,.
At the beginning of his career, Mastiksoul founded his own label, 4Kenzo Recordings. Awards and nominations soon followed, including the 2008 Best House Producer award from the Beatport Music Awards, as well as reaching the number one spot with "Bofe De Elite", "Jacobino" and "Run For Cover," just to name a few.
Mastiksoul's albums have featured collaborations with artists such as Akon, Buraka Som Sistema, Rita Guerra, David Anthony, and Dada - Deepest Blue, with several of them reaching number one on the iTunes Store in Portugal. In 2016, Mastiksoul introduced his first major project with Shaggy and Danny Shaw, "Good for You," followed by "Gasosa" , undoubtedly a milestone in Portugal as one of the biggest hits in recent years, this major success was the first single released under his new label, Playlist, followed by another unique single with Portugal’s greatest fado singer, Mariza. "Livre" (2017), a unique fusion of fado and trap produced by Mastiksoul, reached fifth place in the OGAE Song Contest 2017. In 2019, his biggest hit, "Tou na Moda," surpassed 30 million views on YouTube and remains an anthem at every event to this day.
