On a steadily rising path as a performer, Matay gives us a glimpse into his world on "Espelho", his long-awaited debut album. With influences that travel between soul and gospel, never disavowing his African roots, this album is the pinnacle of the work that the artist has been cementing in recent years.
The line-up includes the recent hits "Eu Espero" and "Deus Sabe o Que Faz (feat. Matias Damásio)", to which are added eight new songs by AGIR (also the album's producer), Matias Damásio and Calema. Among these there is "Nunca Deu", Matay's new single in which the piano and choirs are the backdrop for lyrics that talk about love and hope in its power to heal the wounds of an unhealthy relationship.
Alongside his musical career, Matay has promoted and integrated projects in the field of youth social insertion at Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Lisbon.
