Mathias Zachrisson from Sandviken has previously achieved international
success through the wide acclaimed bands Simian Ghost and Light Vibes. In
2020 Mathias debuted his own music as a solo artist with the critically
acclaimed album "Vinrött Leende & Oskyldigt Grön”. He has subsequently
been described as one of the most exciting acts on the Swedish indie scene
right now, gifted with one of the country's most interesting voices.
Mathias cherish the album concept and his music is rich with details and covers a broad spectrum of influences from the more orchestral genres of the 60s and the 70s.
On September 30th, 2022, Mathias released his second album ”Vågorna”, a song cycle whose themes touch on death, farewells and
processing grief. The memory fragments are reverently portrayed in the
poetic lyrics as well as in the orchestral arrangements, where the evocative
melancholy is given as much space as the romantic. A captivating musical
exploration about saying goodbye, encapsulated in the middle of grief, where
it rubs the most. The album was received with praise by the critics
and it got the highest grade in the Swedish newspaper GD.
- ”Skinless and with great feeling and integrity, Mathias Zachrisson and his
fellow musicians open the door to the inevitable, so that it also becomes a
healing tribute to the light and to life.”
8/11 Mathias reveals his third album; "Vidderna, Så Verkliga" - convincing pop perfection, bringing hope in times with lack of faith for the future.
