Matias Urzua

Matías is a Chilean-American composer based in the San Francisco Bay Area, drawn to music as a way of building worlds and storytelling. Raised between cultures and sounds, his work blends cinematic writing, ambient textures, subtle Latin influences, and sound design.

Since childhood, Matías has found a sense of safety and belonging in his inner world. Music became the language through which he learned to explore that space, and later, to share it. Over time, this sensitivity evolved into an ability to listen deeply, tuning into the inner worlds of others and translating their stories into music.

Through composition, production, and immersive mixing, Matías uses sound to give form to unspoken feelings, creating music that holds space, reflects experience, and connects people through shared emotional landscapes.

Alongside composing, Matías works as an audio engineer and Dolby Atmos mixer, approaching music as a complete journey rather than a single moment. From the first idea to the final mix, he is interested in how music is created from end to end.
