With poignant lyrics & genre-bending music, Hip Hop artist Matre offers a unique & powerful voice. A veteran of LA's vibrant underground he is a long-time member of Hip Hop collective LA2theBay, regularly collaborating with the scene’s trailblazers, colleagues The Shape Shifters, 2Mex & Myka 9 of Freestyle Fellowship, among others. Branching out from his L.A. roots, his eclectic sound has taken him on a journey around the globe, breaking boundaries and genres and recording with legendary rock and world music artists, including Wayne Kramer of the MC5, Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine, platinum-selling Finnish rapper Paleface & renowned Kenyan singer Ochieng’ Nelly. Matre has rocked premiere venues & festivals internationally, collaborating live with members of Pearl Jam, Sound Garden & Faith No More, and sharing stages with rap legends, Public Enemy and The Black Eyed Peas. His music brings a message of radical transformation, inviting listeners to claim their own genius and to actively create the more just & beautiful world that we know is possible.
