Matt Block is an NYC-based trumpet player, songwriter, and music industry professional. Originally from Philadelphia, he was introduced to jazz by his grandfather at age three.
In collaboration his grandfather, <a href="spotify:artist:4K6CAt40h6SerzZCE1oeBZ" data-name="Morton Block">Morton Block</a>, Matt released Strange Harbors (2022), a critically-acclaimed debut and multigenerational saga of love and heartbreak spanning 60 years. The album went viral on TikTok and was featured by The Today Show, People, The Washington Post, ABC News, and many more.
Morton and Matt released their sophomore album, The Lonely Sea (2025), once again demonstrating that they possess a singular gift for storytelling. Their music has a transporting effect, setting an atmosphere that’s both timeless and rich with nostalgia. Their songwriting is more dynamic and impactful than ever, filled with vulnerability, longing, and romance.
