Never one to take himself too seriously, Matt’s done alright since first picking up the guitar as a bit of a joke. He has since developed his brand of happy go lucky, energetic music leading to radio airplay, festival appearances and countless gigs across the country. Not too bad for someone who only became a solo artist by chance.

Matt's song writing explores a variety of subjects while his music flirts with multiple guitar-based genres. An underlying rock quality to his music acts as an ever present reminder of his rock orientated roots and enhances his unique style.

Hailing from the depths of rural Essex, Matt began writing music on his grandfather’s old acoustic guitar as soon as he was able to string a couple of chords together. This quickly progressed to upgrading to an electric guitar, forming a band and learning the ropes of the local music scene.

He never intended to become a solo musician but once the band called it a day, Matt found himself playing a one-off acoustic set as a favour for a friend. He was immediately re-booked by the venue and subsequent bookings followed, thus kick starting his solo venture.

Matt first began selling his music as a collection of demos at gigs and more recently released a highly acclaimed acoustic cover of Motorhead's Ace of Spades. His own material followed in the form of a succession of singles.
