Matt Charleston is a singer/songwriter from Sydney, Australia. He is an upcoming artist that has developed a very versatile and unique sound of Blues/Rock music, artistically fused together with funk and folk music genres.
He picked up the guitar at the age of 15 after witnessing the classic scene of Marty McFly’s guitar solo in the 1980’s film ‘Back to the Future’. Matt has prominently focused on the blues since then, and immersed in the artistic works of John Mayer, B.B King, Buddy Guy and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
He sunk into the country music ‘life’ when he heard Keith Urbans, Kenny Chesney’s and Dierks Bentleys Songs in 2019-2020. He released his Debut Album ‘Songs for the Weekend’ on New Year’s Day, 2021, and made steady inroads in the country/rock genre. He took the time to work on his vocals and musical ability during the COVID-19 pandemic and released much more music.
Notably since then, he has delved deep into his blues/rock roots, releasing the Album 'Unify.' and EP 'Coffee & a Table for One', bookending his 2023 Australian Tour with much success!
