Matt Hibbard is an American songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer residing in Nashville, Tennessee. Known for his knack of churning out sophisticated pop compositions with a rare ability of connecting with a diverse audience, his unique production and sonic craftsmanship has been compared to the likes of <a href="spotify:artist:414TS3VqZf1XPCBixdmX9n" data-name="Jack Antonoff">Jack Antonoff</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3vbKDsSS70ZX9D2OcvbZmS" data-name="Beck">Beck</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:5INjqkS1o8h1imAzPqGZBb" data-name="Tame Impala">Tame Impala</a>.

On October 27, 2022, Matt released his self-produced debut LP <a href="spotify:album:5qHeaP2sMz4m8EPuyXAkIL" data-name="Vol. 1">Vol. 1</a> to critical and commercial acclaim, recorded at his studio in Dallas, Texas.
2023 ushered in the release of singles <a href="spotify:track:6bwDPokHc5HCbZ80085QAR" data-name="Perfect">Perfect</a>, <a href="spotify:track:6SLJKypDIStqJ1IpzKga9z" data-name="Get Down">Get Down</a> and <a href="spotify:track:7deS4DUtQPt9giFZyrB5lf" data-name="Hanging on the Phone">Hanging on the Phone</a> as a precursor to his second solo record. Matt relocated his recording studio to Tulsa, Oklahoma, in late 2022 with the sole purpose of writing, recording and self-producing his next album. It proved the perfect breeding ground to cut his next record, converting an entire house into his private recording studio. Seven months later, the album was completed.
After visiting New York City for an extended time, as well as Nashville for inspiration for writing songs including "The Fire", "The Reason", "Coney Island", "Hanging On the Phone", and the title track "the szn".
