Drummer Matt Jorgensen first appeared on the scene with The Road Begins Here, a moody and introspective work that showed him tackle his own atmospheric arrangements as well as covers ranging as far out of the jazz field as Led Zeppelin. Released in 2001, the album marked his introduction to the jazz world. Teaming with backing group 451, Jorgensen came back the following year with the equally adventurous Quiet Silence.
