Born into a military family, Matt spent the first few years of his life moving up and down the East Coast, before heading to college in South Carolina where he started making music. Matt’s music finds a home between Modern Country, Country Rock, and Country-Pop. Utilizing acoustic and electric guitars in almost all of his songs, Matt puts a strong emphasis on storytelling, an element of song writing that was inspired by artists such as Riley Green, Luke Combs, and Morgan Wallen. Another element of Matt’s approach to songwriting is to make each song unique, stating “I don’t want each one to sound the same” He credits his passion for country music to his military upbringing and mother’s simple way of living, a product of Mobile, Alabama.
