Matthew Bentley

Matthew Bentley is an acoustic guitarist and folk singer/songwriter, whose earthy music reflects his life by the water on Victoria’s Raymond Island.

With his 12-string Maton guitar, Matthew came second out of more than 200 acts from around Victoria at the 2017 FReeZA Push Start at the St Kilda Festival, winning the APRA Songwriter Award.

A spot at the Bruthen Blues & Arts Festival kick-started a busy 2018.

Matthew’s first single Wake Up was released in March with a stunning video clip produced by TK Visuals, Melbourne, attracting more than 50,000 views in the first week.

The song was an initial taste of the Wake Up EP to be released at the start of Spring.

Matthew opened for the great blues guitarist/singer Lloyd Spiegel at Live at the Bundy in July. Shows at the Westernport Hotel San Remo (31 August) and The Workers Club Fitzroy (6 September) will kick-start a two-month 25 show eastern states tour, that will take him from Victoria to Queensland's Sunshine Coast.

Meanwhile, Matthew is finding inspiration for more new songs while pursuing his passion for surfing, travelling and spending time with friends.
