Sometimes short, quiet and sweet– other times building into wall-of-sound anthems with multi-part harmonies and layered instrumentation, Matthew Larsen's introspective piano indie-folk songs often recall relationships, mortality, health, and living in a world of uncertainty. With longtime collaborator Greg Saulmon and a rotating cast of friends lovingly referred to as The Documents, Matthew has released two full-length records on his label Dark Dining Room Records (named for long time house concert series started in his dining room) , "Apheresis" and "Holding Pattern". A new single, "We're The Same", was recently released as a preview of a new as yet unnamed record to be released in 2023.
