Matthew Neves was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on May 2, 1984. He got his first guitar when he was four and taught himself to play. By twelve, he could proficiently play guitar, bass, keyboards and drums. In 1998, he founded DemoticA, a three-piece Metal band and became a solo artist in 2004.
In 2008, he opened for Chuck Negron and also performed with Nina Sky. From 2010 - 2012, he released his debut album, "Everybody Dreams", released his debut music video “In The End", wrote songs for X-Factor finalist, Jennel Garcia, and was featured on New England's NECN "The Morning Show".
In 2013, he performed with Jennel Garcia at the Nagle Auditorium and the Showcase Live. He released his second album "You And Me" along with two more music videos: "Eyes of an Angel" and "Impossible". He was featured in SOCO (NE magazine), headlined the Mercedes Benz Red Carpet event at the Marina Grande, released his third album "Diligence", and music video "Butterflies", and wrote musical pieces for Mass In Motion (promoting healthy lifestyle for children).
In 2015, he won the 14th Annual Independent Music Awards for "Best Pop Song" with "Sunday," and also won "Best Acoustic Song" with "Butterflies."
Two videos followed in 2016: "I've Been So Far Away" and "Today's the Day". He won "Best Video of the Year” in the 8th Annual Limelight Magazine Music Awards, and won "Breakthrough Artist of the Year” with "Today is the Day".
Matthew is expecting to release his fourth album early in 2020.
