Matthew Phoenix is a 22 year old artist and producer based in The Netherlands.
Matthew grew up in a very musical family, and from a young age he was exposed to classical music and he fell in love with it. As he grew older he started listening to more kinds of music, like Rock, Jazz, Dance and Funk. His entire life was dedicated to listening to music, it was even the reason he almost failed high school. twice. though listening to music almost his entire life, his dream was not to be a musician.
Growing up at the time of the golden age of youtube, Matthew wanted to make internet video's. These video's were in need of music however, and so he started to mess around with making music, instead of only listening to it. His mom gifted him an electronic keyboard and from there his life changed. fast forward eight years and Matthew is now studying composition and music production at the Utrecht University of the Arts, refining his skills and gaining new perspectives on music.
In Matthew's music all the influences from two decades of intense music listening come together with story telling usually found in film and literature. All this blends into a unique style of music. Adding some of that Millenial humor, he seeks to create fun and engaging music fitting of the 21st century.
