<a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Leaving+Records%22">Leaving Records</a> co-founder <a href="spotify:artist:4KKx8fVJ0y7EcpmYZ42jPc">Matthewdavid</a> gained prominence as part of the Los Angeles experimental beatmaking scene, but his recordings have often drifted away from hip-hop, exploring ambient and new age influences. After titling a 2013 full-length Mindflight, he began releasing new age material as Matthewdavid's Mindflight, starting with the 2015 cassette Ashram. The double LP Trust the Guide and Glide appeared in 2016, followed by A Meditation on Events in 2016, which featured improvised collaborations with <a href="spotify:artist:1jf3CssdtSksxNa3uIpPzS">Dntel</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4GcpBLY8g8NrmimWbssM26">Mndsgn</a>, and Diva Dompe.
