Within days of releasing their first music - and without any promotion to friends or press - future R&B duo Matusa was approached by numerous blogs, management companies and record labels, all curious to hear more about the identity behind this intriguingly “vibey", “sultry” sound that drew comparisons to James Blake and Majid Jordan.
Between them, Matusa have since gone on to write, produce, perform and/or record with recognised artists in shows and festivals in the Americas, Australasia and Europe, at iconic venues including the Museum of Modern Art PS1 (New York, US); the Novo DTLA (Los Angeles, US); the Sydney Opera House (Sydney, Australia); and even as part of the Tiny Desk session on NPR (Washington D.C., US).
