Born and raised 150 kilometers south of the Arctic Circle in Luleå, Sweden, I grew up where light, silence, and resilience shape the soul. I later worked for many years as a preschool teacher in Stockholm, mainly with immigrant children from Latin America, while studying music, singing, and leading song sessions.

I have sung and danced with the band Rios Bravos, played piano and guitar, and studied percussion instruments such as tabla, congas, djembe, and castanets. Long periods of my life were spent in Spain, loving the sun and flamenco.

I have written books and hundreds of short stories for magazines. After losing my partner of over twenty years to ALS, I began writing songs. Writing is my therapy—the cheapest medicine—and stubbornness is probably why I am still here.

Musically, I am an omnivore, drawn especially to bossa nova, samba, rumba, jazz, blues, and country.
