Mauri Machicao is a multi-instrumentalist music composer born in La Paz, Bolivia. He has released, to date, 8 albums within the genres of Rock, Cumbia, Flamenco, Bolivian Folk Music and modern Opera. Mauri Machicao began his musical studies at the age of 8 from his father J. Carlos Machicao Aparicio, a skilled amateur musician who taught him his first guitar lessons. Afterwards he starts piano lessons with his grandfather, Hernán Cardona Sanzetenea, a skilled professional music composer. At age 18 he joined to the Music degree career and at the same time he started to work as private piano- guitar teacher. In 2003 Mauri Machicao started his music career as a composer with "X amor X error" a rock album in which he plays all the instruments. Two years later Machicao began to work on his second album "Puma Punk" along with other two musicians as a power-trio, this album stands for a more profane lyrics and grungy sound. In 2008 he releases "Magnificas Venas Abiertas Con Sal" with the same heavy trademark. In 2011 after a trip to Europe, Mauri Machicao starts his Flamenco-Fusion period with the band Chola Chalá releasing 3 albums. In 2017 Machicao releases "39", a modern electronic'lish opera about Ernesto Che Guevara's last moments in Bolivia. This 2020, Machicao just released his new album "Hasta la madrugá", an acoustic work in which the artist review a lot of his past singles and b-side songs from his very first work in 2003. It also contains 2 cover songs.
