Mauricio Dawid

Mauricio Dawid is currently one of the most active double bass players in Buenos Aires. Internationally he has played with many great jazz figures such as Antonio Hart, Robin Eubanks, Anthony Wonsey, Mark Turner, Ralph Alessi, Jim Rotondi, Eve Cornelious, Steve Davis, Tim Ries, George Garzone, Johannes Bockholt, Vince Ector and Rex Richardson. He has toured Argentina, Latin America, the United States and China with the groups of Ernesto Jodos, Luis Nacht and Juan Pablo Arredondo. He has also played with many of the most renowned jazz musicians in Argentina, including Javier Malosetti, Sergio Verdinelli, Marcelo Gutfraind, Enrique Norris, Mariano Loiácono, Rodrigo Domínguez, Patricio Carpossi, Daniel "Pipi" Piazzolla, Pepi Taveira, Gustavo Musso, Paula Shocron, Carlos Lastra, Roxana Amed, Lucio Balduini and Guillermo Romero, among others.

In addition to his solo career, Mauricio takes part in the projects of Sergio Verdinelli, Mariano Loiácono, Carlos Michelini, Carlos Casazza and Sergio Wagner, among others. His debut album Sonora was released in 2013 and was highly acclaimed by jazz critics. The album was presented live at the Buenos Aires International Jazz Festival in 2014 within the cycle of Kuai Music, a record label that Mauricio created with two colleagues in 2012 and was chosen by the digital magazine El Intruso as "Record Label of the Year" in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
