Max Casacci

Max Casacci: composer, producer, sound engineer, dj and renowned experimenter, is also guitarist and co-founder of Subsonica, one of the most famous italian bands. His two solo albums are made without recurring to musical instruments: "Earthophonia," the first one, is exclusively made with sounds of nature (in support of the battle against climate change), "Urban Groovescapes”, the second one, is made only using city sounds recordings.


Max's relationship between music and noise was born with the album "Glasstress" (Max Casacci and Vaghe Stelle ) made as a sound work as part of the Venice Art Biennale. The sounds of a Murano glass furnace are transformed into rhythm and "glass music" together with other electronic and acoustic instruments. The next experience will be that of "The City" (MCDM+Cisi), where together with producer Daniele Mana and jazz musician Emanuele Cisi, it will be the noises of the city of Turin that will become the rhythmic backbone, for an album full of important jazz features. Later Max Casacci will begin to extract music exclusively from noises and sound environments.
Max Casacci has been active for decades and has always alternated between underground experimentation and chart music. He has made several soundtracks and recently mixed, for Warp Records, Lorenzo Senni's electronic albums: "Persona" and "Scacco Matto."
