Mayorga

Mayorga is the band revolving around Helena Mayorga Paredes. The half-Chilean guitarist enchants with a melancholic mix of lo-fi indie pop layered with fuzzy guitars. Her songs are written in her bedroom, on the road or on the road to her bedroom. Afterwards, she’ll go into the studio to record them with her producer. If Mayorga was a hashtag, it would undoubtedly be #DIY, since she plays the guitars, drums, bass & percussion all herself. The distorted vocals are also hers. Yup, DIY.

'Girlcrush' echoed through the speakers of Studio Brussels like a mantra for weeks, making it to number one. Her second single 'All I Wanna Do' also made it into the top 20. Mayorga's hit 'Girlcrush' took pride of place this year as the opening song of VRT's popular Dagelijkse Kost. After this well-deserved triumph, they embarked on a busy summer full of performances at major festivals such as Rock Werchter (*** review in De Standaard and Humo), Pukkelpop, Lokerse Feesten, Crammerock, Suikerrock, Rock Herk and many more. Their tour ended with the release of their EP in a sold out AB club in October. With all the miles they've travelled, Mayorga are determined to deliver a powerful new live set in 2024.
