Frequently counted among the sexiest women in the world, Mayra Veronica is a Cuban-American model whose international fame led to a solo recording career. Born Mayra Verónica Aruca Rodríguez on August 20, 1980, in Havana, Cuba, she moved to the United States at age five with her mother. Her father joined the family a year later, and the family settled in a Cuban neighborhood of Miami, FL. After years of dance and beauty pageantry, Veronica established herself as a model, first on the Spanish-language television channel Univision; then in the pages as well as on the covers of men's magazines such as FHM, King, and Maxim; and also in a variety of television commercials, including one alongside Lebron James. Well established as an internationally famous model celebrated for her sexual appeal, Veronica embarked on a solo recording career in 2006 with the independently released full-length album Vengo con To'. Featuring production by <a href="spotify:artist:74cNhp7LsCkRB6i4ey3hIT">Kike Santander</a>, the album was written primarily by <a href="spotify:artist:6UVLAS3ksieQaNxtgoAn86">Roy Tavaré</a> and was re-released in 2007 with bonus material and a new cover image. While Vengo con To' failed to spawn a major hit single, Veronica later got her first taste of commercial success as a singer with the hit single "Es Tan Dificil" in 2008.
