Mbkmeechie, born Dahmetrius Deron McGuire, didn’t get to this level overnight. He’s been a student of music since he was 18, taking from his biggest influence Michael Jackson who inspired him to sing and dance at a young age. Like Mike, Mbkmeechie has a natural talent that is rooted in entertaining a crowd which led to him auditioning for American Idol. While he was cut during his audition, the Lousinana bred singer used this rejection as fuel to make the best music of his life.

“I just want people to vibe and be able to connect with me through my voice and what I’m saying,” he explains candidly and this effort to connect is made through his singles like “Chanel” and “Myself”.
