Growing up on Long Island, New York, MC Ambush first developed a love of music via his father, who was a regular DJ at block parties. An introduction into hip-hop at a young age spurred his desire to be a vocalist, and while serving in the U.S. Army, Ambush was stationed in the Netherlands, where he first began to develop his skills. Teaming up with local DJ Chuckie, Ambush freestyled for the DJ at shows across Europe before being introduced to a host of Dutch artists, with whom he would tour and perform. Ambush stayed in Holland, and after creating his own MC'ing course in The Hague, he started to lend his vocal skills to local Dutch dance producers. In 2003, his work on Kevin Lyttle's "Turn Me On" hit the Top Ten in Holland and spent time in the German charts. Ambush lent his skills to numerous releases over the next few years -- including work with Chuckie and Hardwell -- as well as being a regular at dance festivals and club nights across Europe and the U.S. performing alongside David Guetta and Armand Van Helden. By 2014, he'd become highly in demand as a vocalist, and with his profile expanding, he supplied his MC'ing skills to tracks by the likes of Showtek, Afrojack, and Apster. Continuing to perform at club nights across the world, Ambush has carried on his work with Hardwell and Afrojack, supplying vocals to their hit "Hands Up" in 2017. ~ Rich Wilson, Rovi
