MC OMAR

MC OMAR, born in 1997 grew up as the son of a carpenter in a poor area of Lattakia (Syria) and is a Syrian-German rapper. He raps mostly in Arabic. Partly he attempts German passages. He came to Cologne (Germany) in 2015 to advance his rap career. In 2018 he had his biggest rash to date at „Köln zeigt Haltung“ in front of 12,000 people. In the Syrian rap scene, he already drew attention to himself as a teenager when, from the age of 13, he regularly competed in street freestyle battles against rappers from other cities in his hometown of Lattakia, where he was able to win all of them. That made him the figurehead of his city. Fun fact: His mother always sent him shopping because he didn't had to pay thanks to his status. Even today his songs are still playing in every street and every shop there. He is also the only rapper who can rap Doubletime in Arabic at an extremely high tempo and with perfect pronunciation. But he can do much more than that. Freestyle, old school, new school or goose-bump singing? Hard songs with street vibe, cheerful songs with party vibe, chilly songs with laid back attitude or soulful, sad songs? He masters every discipline and every style perfectly and makes his mark on every song with his haunting, Afro-Arab sounding voice.
