Mike "MDB" Dow is a partially-blind emcee from Amherst, Nova Scotia who is currently living in Moncton, New Brunswick. MDB was first introduced to hip hop culture through the genre of rap music when he was fifteen years old. At first, he was only a fan of the music, but after hearing local rap songs during a tour of CKDU in Halifax, he realized that it was possible to be a rapper no matter where you are
from. From there, MDB released three mixtapes and, most recently, his first full-length album, "Insight". Drawing inspiration from events in his own life, MDB is just trying to tell his story through his music.
MDB has performed many shows throughout the Maritime Provinces, as well as part of a successful tour in 2013 for his album release. He is also known for his dedication and reliability when it comes to performing live. Because of that, it is no surprise he has shared the stage with the 2 Live Crew, Snak the Ripper, Spesh K Madchild, Mob Deep, Hopsin, Doom Squad and J-Bru. MDB's story and music have also been featured in a documentary, "Music By Any Means", by 44 Productions. MDB has also been featured numerous times in local newspapers and magazines, including a recent in-depth interview in Here Magazine.
