me + the others are an Americana band out of Lawrence, KS. The band was formed in 2017 by lead singer, Weston Flory, and lead Guitarist, Cale Griffin. Growing up, Griffin and Flory lived next door to each other on a hill in view of another Kansas hill called "Mt. Blue," hence the name for their first record "Songs for Mt. Blue." Other members who contribute are pianist and bassist, Jordan Vitt, percussionist and singer, Andrew Markley, banjo player, Isaac Schmidt, Isaac's twin mandolinist brother, William Schmidt, and live background vocalist, Hannah Markley, who is well known for her contribution in “Alibi.”
In 2023, the band released their new record “Heartsick Hinterland,” which explores the nature of and relationship between love and abuse.
me + the others is known for their earliest single, "Wash Your Hair," which sparked an interest in their fellow Lawrencians.
