Mecanotremata

Formed in Curitiba in 1993, Mecanotremata finds in the industrial music sound the starting point for using elements from the electronic music, metal and hardcore, always conciliating analogic, digital and organic tools. This dialogue is also reflected by the lyrics which are mainly about the relationship between humanity and its environment and development. Influenced by groups like Test Department, Laibach,
Einstuerzende Neubauten, Ministry, Revolting Cocks, NIN, Young Gods and Skinny Puppy, the band Mecanotremata exerts a disciplined aggressiveness even when using a pop reference.
Considering the time since the band was created, the group hasn’t been in many gigs, but the ones they have done were strong enough to generate comparatives like “avalanche”, “battlefield”, “a war”, “machine”, “motor”, impressions that show that the band has been obtaining the desired results with its presentations.
Initially a collective with around nine people, the group started a noisy trail of experiments with conventional musical instruments, junkyard, electronic drums and drilling machines till it got to its current formation where softwares and railway sleepers have the same importance to the final sound.
The band current formation is Brasil Holsbach (vocal/bass), Theo (percussion/ base
sound programming/lyrics) and Luiz Galvão (backing vocal/guitar/lyrics).
