Meet Mega Ultra Turbo Snake, a Dutch powerhouse formed in 2010, featuring Jim Otten (guitar), Elmer Klingen (guitar, main vocals), Marco Stolker (bass guitar), and Edgar Post-Buijs (drums). Their musical journey began in 2003 with Edgar and Jim collaborating in theClose.
Post their initial venture, Edgar and Jim explored diverse musical paths individually. Elmer's rock band Alcatrash sought a drummer, leading to Edgar’s entry, and Jim quickly followed, birthing <a href="spotify:artist:11fxSSYJZ0h5WAK3ZH5GMK" data-name="The Orkistra">The Orkistra</a>. From 2007 to 2009, Edgar, Jim, and Elmer evolved into the heavier and eclectic Mega Ultra Turbo Snake.
Despite early success, the band mysteriously disbanded. Marco Stolker, the bass maestro, had previously collaborated with Jim in <a href="spotify:artist:4e6XKCLBSEmMSem1ynqci4" data-name="Crosseyed And Banished">Crosseyed And Banished</a>. In 2022, Edgar and Jim revived Mega Ultra Turbo Snake, with Marco replacing the original bassist. Gigs and three singles, "The Ant," "Abominable," and "Plough," recorded at IJland Studios, mark their return in 2023-2024.
Influenced by '90s and '00s bands, Mega Ultra Turbo Snake crafts a heavy rock sound with obscure songwriting and a poppy twist.
