Megan Piphus is a 4x Emmy-winning producer and artist who began performing at age 10 and gained national recognition as a ventriloquist The Oprah Winfrey Show’s World’s Most Talented Kids. She has played the role of Gabrielle on legendary children’s show Sesame Street since 2020 and became the first full-time Black woman puppeteer on Sesame Street in 2022. Piphus is a graduate of Vanderbilt University with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Economics and Finance and used her finance background to develop a financial literacy series in collaboration with PBS/CET and the University of Cincinnati for kids through puppetry and original songs that she composed and produced. In 2023, she released the children’s album Spaceships & Dreams under May & Them Pups, co-produced by industry legends and featured on Apple Music Kids' Best of 2023 list. Piphus is the author of children’s book “Talk to the Hand” (Penguin Young Readers, releasing 2026) the story of how she found her voice through puppetry. As a mom of two boys, Piphus combines her passion for storytelling with her mission to inspire young minds.
