In a world of eclectic DJs and producers, few maintain the curiosity and unique identity of Mehmet Aslan. Born to Turkish immigrant parents and raised in Basel, Switzerland, Aslan’s journey began with Turkish music and evolved into a deep dive into diverse, often unusual sounds. His innovative edits and productions quickly caught the dance music scene's attention, leading to a residency at Basel’s Hinterhof club.

Since his breakthrough EP, ‘Mechanical Turk,’ in 2014, Aslan has been hailed for his imaginative style. His 2022 album, ‘The Sun Is Parallel,’ received acclaim from major music publications and showcased his cosmic, ambitious sound. His latest album, ‘Auguri,’ blends ambient, experimental, and electronic folk music to address themes of migration and climate change.

Aslan thrives in live performances, playing alongside Daniel Pankau and Alican Tezer in a dynamic trio. Their genre-blending jams have graced festivals like Groningen’s ESNS and Hamburg’s Reeperbahn.

Aslan’s passion for music history remains strong. His curated set for Strut Recordings, ‘Senza Decoro,’ explores disco, post-punk, and early electronic music in Switzerland. His monthly radio show on Berlin’s Refuge Worldwide keeps his eclectic taste in the spotlight.

Whether in the DJ booth or the studio, Aslan draws connections across genres and eras, creating a distinct musical tapestry that’s entirely his own.
