Oladimeji Adegbamigbe (born November 1, 1995), known professionally as Meji, is a Nigerian rapper and songwriter—self-titled “Humble Son, Cocky Bastard.” He discovered his passion for music at 16, inspired by rap icon MI Abaga, who later became a strong supporter of his career. By 22, Meji had completed his tertiary education and returned to Lagos to pursue music professionally.
His first major entrance into the Nigerian rap scene came with 100 Clowns, a diss track aimed at Blaqbonez. He followed up with Overkill, an emo rap single that gained significant traction, peaking at #58 on Apple Music’s Alternative Charts and landing on multiple playlists across Apple Music, Audiomack, and Boomplay. Since then, Meji has released two EPs and seven singles, further solidifying his place in the rap scene.
Defining his sound as “introspective music on beats that make your head bop,” Meji draws inspiration from Kanye West, MI Abaga, and Eminem. Currently, he is working on his next project, MejIVerse, an EP that promises to push his creative boundaries even further.
Currently an independent artist, Meji's creativity extends into graphic design, filmmaking, and motion graphics, earning him the nickname “Creative Bully” among fans and friends.
“I can do anything I set my mind to once I’m locked in. I’m big on loyalty because the story is more beautiful when you dine with those you struggled with.” - Meji, The One!
