Melas Leukos is an ethereal singer-songwriter weaving myth, spirit, and sound into something both ancient and otherworldly. Rooted in transcendent folk and shaped by the cycles of death and rebirth, her music feels like a journey through the underworld—where surrender transforms into awakening, and loss gives way to luminous expansiveness.
Her songs are stories from the unseen: animal messengers, nature spirits, and elemental truths whispered through melody. Both whimsical and powerful, Melas’s voice evokes the sacred, the surreal, and the sublime.
A lifelong singer, Melas has been making up songs from the time she could speak. For her, songwriting is a form of communion—a way to express the vast, swirling universe that lives just beneath the skin. Her debut EP Fable, (Jumpsuit Records, 2017) introduced listeners to her dreamlike world, and her long-term collaboration with musician, artist, and producer Tone Ranger has continued to expand her sonic horizons. She has performed in resonant spaces such as San Miguel Chapel and Taos Mesa Amphitheater, bringing her rituals of sound to life on sacred ground.
