As a teenager, Melchi Vepouyoum worked in his brother-in-law's butcher shop in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon. In the sales room there is always radio music playing in the background. When he spontaneously begins to sing along, he immediately makes the decision to dedicate all his energies from now on to learning and creating music.
Before that, he sings in his free time as a means of escaping from everyday life. But now he is enrolling at a local music school to learn music theory and piano. He uses every free minute to improve. After a short time, his piano teacher hires him as an assistant and he also begins to play the guitar.
Years later, Melchi ended up in Germany. Here, too, he continues his path of making music. In 2020 he released his debut album “Monteru” and now the EP “Femju” will follow.
