Melissa Bon

Here is a first EP which resembles a birth, and it is hard to imagine that, at the age of 24, Melissa Bon might one day sing differently, so right is her style and so well does it match her tenderly introverted personality. The first two songs in this founding work did not come into being by chance. The lovely Melissa, a native of Geneva, of Franco-Swiss and Ethiopian origin and completely bi-lingual in French and English, literally “spat” them out on a flight taking her from New York to Paris. It seems that a glut of emotions finally broke through her armour and enabled a heart pierced with words essential to her to overflow in organic melodies touching the depths of the abyss – an intimate method like an exorcism, a therapy. For until then, Melissa had never written a song or, out of shyness, ever dared to tell anyone of the impetuous backwash of her thoughts. A miracle because, here, the catharsis touches the performer and the listener alike, suddenly pierced and attracted by the sparkling truth of the song.
