Melliflux is the musical project of London based composer, producer and musician, Jay Brewer. Combining electronic elements with live instrumentation, his sound is a melting pot of Soul, Jazz and R&B. Playful drum grooves and bass lines lay the foundation whilst delicate guitar lead melodies float above wide sweeping synths and orchestral instrumentation.
Growing up, Jay's family home always had music playing from all different genres. This led to him picking up the guitar at age 13 to begin creating his own musical voice.
In 2013 Jay started his first original musical project, <a href="spotify:artist:241R93JYsL4MM8xRYBYyu0" data-name="Island Lights">Island Lights</a> (FKA The Remedy). This built his skills as a writer and performer, with the project gaining support from the likes of NME and Ronnie Scott's. After becoming more interested in the sound of artists like <a href="spotify:artist:0cmWgDlu9CwTgxPhf403hb" data-name="Bonobo">Bonobo</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0yLmsf6RBPYqm6hvFJCPg6" data-name="Taylor McFerrin">Taylor McFerrin</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:7zrkALJ9ayRjzysp4QYoEg" data-name="Maribou State">Maribou State</a>, Jay began learning about music production. Experimenting with crossing live instruments with electronic elements, this opened a whole new world of sounds and possibilities for his music.
