Melody by Design is the solo project of Dominic Bourque. He started playing guitar in 1996 for a local band in Quebec City. After the band’s break up, he stopped playing guitar for many years, as he did not want to play solo at the time.
However, Dominic never lost his love of music. During those years, he enjoyed listening so many styles of music, including Punk Rock, Metal, Rock and all kinds of melodic music.
In 2015, Dominic decided to buy a new guitar and start playing again. This time, with all the new technology available for production, he found that he really enjoyed playing and experimenting with music by himself. Dominic started writing some songs in 2017 for a possible new band, but the band never came to light. Despite the setback, in 2018, he instead focused more on instrumental songs, developing his own melodic and energetic style.
In 2020, the MELODY BY DESIGN project officially began with the first EP / Demo “My First Steps”.
In May of 2021, the first full length album "RISING UP" release worldwide.
