The new project from songwriter and producer Matt Bauer, Memory Spells takes the orchestral leanings of his later indie folk records further in the direction of cinematic post rock and experimental instrumental music.
Drawing on Bauer’s love of tv, film, and video game scores, early post punk, and 80’s film music, the songs are often composed as soundtracks and cues to imagined movies and tv shows.
Bauer's songwriting and production have been featured in Grey's Anatomy, How To Get Away With Murder, Lucifer, Nancy Drew, Vice on Showtime, Good Trouble, Bull, Cassette: A Documentary Mixtape and more.
