June 2025: After a 30+ year hiatus the Okanagan based Society of Composers, Authors, and Music Publishers award-winning songwriter Jim Mennear is back and picking up right where he left off.
One of Mennear’s biggest songs was his 1993 single “Missing Child”. The track featured local Okanagan BC singers the Cruzeros and over 30 children from the St. James Elementary School choir. A live performance of the song was filmed with host Terry David Mulligan from Much Music at Polson Park Vernon BC and aired on Much Music on May 25th 1993 National Missing Children’s Day.
Mennear's official return is marked by the release of a song he wrote in the 90s called “Together” (Revised), immediately followed by “Johnny”. Both songs including videos are now available on all major music streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.
Mennear is currently reproducing some of his catalogue while also writing and producing new music.
