Menticide

MENTICIDE, the unyielding EBM force from Stockholm, Sweden exploded onto the scene with their brutal yet melodic productions just a few decades ago. Christian R. (programmer in <a href="spotify:artist:77DbneJexoP9a6IKSTlj6X" data-name="Pouppée Fabrikk">Pouppée Fabrikk</a>) and vocalist Johan Damm (the original frontman of <a href="spotify:artist:6i1hHzVl3ZQbdrGuQEmC2S" data-name="Dupont">Dupont</a>) formed VOLT at the start of the millennium. Initially, paying homage to classic EBM and crossover acts such as <a href="spotify:artist:4KtyUYo9zaM9YggIVc7uxx" data-name="DAF">DAF</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7l4LQfvN4yz8zbK4WY0AAg" data-name="Laibach">Laibach</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7EnAgffrVyerTWH628TJ6f" data-name="Nitzer Ebb">Nitzer Ebb</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:6wWVKhxIU2cEi0K81v7HvP" data-name="Rammstein">Rammstein</a>, before they started producing their own original material. They caught the attention of the influential Swedish record label SubSpace (at the time already home to prominent electronic acts such as <a href="spotify:artist:11zG3SH7tJ36wYmCJ2oWyB" data-name="Covenant">Covenant</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6rGKVeLdDQmfI6WfS7A2Vg" data-name="Spetsnaz">Spetsnaz</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:2sDfbgbPqK8cnEDV5bCyby" data-name="S.P.O.C.K">S.P.O.C.K</a>), who quickly offered them a deal.

Changing their name to MENTICIDE, the recording and production at their own Stahlwerk studio geared up to a higher level. Although rooted in old-school EBM, the inspiration incorporates darker and eerier elements from crossover and industrial genres, underpinned by Johan Damm&#39;s unmistakable and commanding voice singing and growling in both English and German. MENTICIDE released their unrelenting debut album ”N.M.E.” on SubSpace but also on seminal record labels Infacted and Gravitator, spawning underground favourites like &#34;Komm Zu Mir&#34; and &#34;Search And Destroy&#34; .

Now, after a long hiatus, MENTICIDE returns—rearmed with a powerful new label partnership and a fresh arsenal of brutal, melodic material.
