Mercury Village is the solo project of UK-based artist Jake Stinson‑Lazenby. The debut album So Far So Good was recorded across bedrooms and makeshift spaces in the UK and Canada, with contributions from close collaborators including Max Beales (drums/guitar), Rose Allnutt (vocals), and Cristian Parisi (saxophone). Rooted in a DIY approach, the project grew from home recordings and voice memos into a fully realised release. The songs reflect personal moments, shaped by moving from place to place and the quiet hours where memories drift in.
Musically, Mercury Village blends ambient pop, lo-fi indie, and subtle jazz influences, with soft vocals, layered guitar, minimal percussion, and occasional field recordings. The sound is slow-burning and reflective—music for late nights, foggy thoughts, and moments that feel just out of reach. There’s a focus on texture over polish, mood over structure—capturing expression as it arrives, not after it’s been cleaned up.
